This has nothing to do with knives, but I just had to give some recognition to these guys, including Les, and I figured here is the right place. Just caught a show on the military channel: Navy Bomb Squad, examining the navy's explosive ordinance disposal unit. I gotta say these dudes are no joke. It is a dangerous job that I really have a lot of respect for as I do not think this is something I could do. :35:

Watching it made me think of these though:

I saw "The Hurt Locker" too, Jeff, and it made me think of Les, also. Except none of the guys in the movie seemed as crazy as Les and they were a lot better looking.

It amazes me how many people loved that movie. If you only knew how completely unrealistic it is. Having been there, done that, and had my butt saved by route clearance teams and EOD, all I can say is that these guys are all AMAZING. They are truely under appreciated and unrecognized for thier commitment to protecting the rest of our military personnel.

As far as Les is concerned, he just ain't right. They must have slipped a little centex in his salt shaker on margarita night.

There will be no more mention of Navy EOD in my forum unless it's to make fun of the leg shavin' premadonas! ;) Don't get me started about those big watch having pretty boys! :D

The Hurt Locker movie is not about EOD anymore than The Old Man and the Sea is about fishin, I dont get too worked up about it.... The cops don't get mad cuz Lethal Weapon is not like a day on the job!

It's been a hard year for the Marine EOD field, the last guy I had working for me, in Iraq, got hurt pretty bad in Afghanistan last week.

I have been out long enough now that I dont know EVERYONE that gets hurt any more. I do however know all these guys...

None of them are as good looking as I am though! ;)
