Just got word from Plaza Cutlery that the first Hawaii Knife Show is on for 2011! I am down like 4 flat tires! :35:

The date is march 12TH, 2011
Customer admission is FREE !!
Location is the "Hilton Hawaiian Village" located in Honolulu Hawaii
Show hours 10AM to 4PM in the "to be announced"
There will also possibly be a dinner or picnic and other activities!
Will post table is $400. Exhibitors please send a $200 deposit so I know who is serious.
Also exhibitor requirement for Non-Hawaiian based exhibitors is 3 nights at the Hilton. They have given excellent rates or you can also use any package from the Hilton or with an airline but you must spend at least 3 nights at the Hilton Hawaiian Village for us to make our block. You can also stay longer. It is a fabulous property! Pam and I just spend our vacation there! Same rates can be used by collectors and buyers also! Anyone else going if you are staying the Hilton please give me your name so we can get credit. Does not change your deal

This show will be open to custom knifemakers, dealers, suppliers, collectors & manufactures. Dealers can deal in factory (new and old) or custom knives or kitchen cutlery. To be honest this will be a solid effort to do a good show but reality is it will be a vacation. Please do not sign up expecting anything more then a good time. We will give it a good shot!

Any one from Hawaii that would like to help lay some ground work please contact me.

I am guessing this a per night rate? Anyhow this is very interesting to me. My wife seemed interested because it is Hawaii.

As far as I know, that is right. I used to live in Hawaii and that is a pretty good deal, considered.....

I'm all kinda excited about this show! :)

Yeah I told my wife and she is interested because she LOVES Hawaii. I really like Hawaii and I have been wanting to go to a knife show so all things considered this seems like the best combo in my opinion. I think I am going to try my best to make it the scenery would be better than Atlanta.

I was also wondering how long do people think or are planning on staying? I was thinking 4-6 days. Having never been to Honolulu what are some other fun things to do there?

Les George

Nothing on Oahu is very far away, and there are a lot of things to do there. Pretty much a little of anything.... What do you like to do? I did live there for about 4 years....

We'll probably hit the beaches and see some friends.

I think that we will stay on Oahu 3-4 days and then bounce to Maui for 2 or so days.... inter island flights should be about $99 :)

Oh I like to do a variety of things. I like to hit some beaches maybe do some swimming/snorkling. Hopefully grab a beer with my favorite knifemaker? Maybe do some hiking or exploring.

Les George

All those things are easy on that island. Plenty of hiking trials and snorkeling to keep you busy for a few days. The whales should be there then too, you can seem them from the shore.

You can snorkel the north shore if the surf is down and if it's not you can see a 25-50 foot wave (from the shore) then go to Hanauma Bay. Hike the light house, buggy boats at Bellow, hit the Polly look out, eat at L&L!!!! Plenty time to grab a beer and some popos (sp) too.

Can you tell I am excited about this show? I may even remember to bring knives!

This would be and awsome show to go to! How would the attendance of buyers be? Is there a good market there? My wife and I have also been wanting to go to Hawaii & if I could set up at a knife show while we are there that would even be better!

It's hard telling how the show will be, this is the first year they have done it. It's only been in the ruff planning stage for 10 years or so... :)

Les, I wouldn't take the knife in the first photo. The other giys might make fun of you for that one. I tell ya what, just finish it and send it to me and then no one will see it and be able to tease you about it (or drool all over your table when they look at it).

Great lookin work brother.
