View Full Version : Call for artwork, logo's, theme ideas

BossDog

As you can see we are still pretty generic with the vBulletin logo at the top.

We are looking for ideas on a mascot, logo's, artwork, t-shirt's, theme's, dog tags, etc.

I am pretty sure I would like to see a cartoon type bulldog (think Spike on Warner Brothers cartoons) mascot somewhere in the mix. I'd like one stylized mascot to key off and tie a theme into. The cartoon dog can look friendly in one use, and tougher than nails in another. No one image will be the only image.
Another image to consider is the old world war II fighting dogface (fighting bulldog) type drawings.

Having said all that, we are wide open. Let's see what you can come up with.

If you are a good with photoshop or other graphics program, post them here.

If you are professional graphic artist and come up with graphics, we need to talk and work something out.

I'm not sure what you all are looking for, but I took the dog in the logo we have now, and I fixed up the colors a little, and made his tongue smaller, and put a knife in his mouth. It might be too detailed for what you're looking for though

Here's what I came up with

Ok, I guess I showed up late to this party!

I took what you said about the forum and punched up a little catch phrasing to tie in and give a presence to what you are working so hard to accomplish.

All it cost me was a few minutes of time and a headache from straining my brain hahaha.

I'll see what I can do.

There are no points to have him holding a knife from that are visible.

Maybe a long blade coming from behind his back as if there is a sword in his right paw, covered in majority by his forearms?

A necker knife may also be pulled off.

I need to get's me creative juices flowing.... Y'all got me all riled up with the photoshop now!

John, That sounds GREAT.

I however am somewhat limited in my chopping skills, I can add things but, can't re-draw and insert a proportionate paw unless I have my pen pad stylus and it's in a box somewhere.

Alright here's some ideas about themed art specifically for Knife Dogs.

This standing dog w/knife or sword,This is a very quick study on a concept.
I'll work on some different head positions.See if I can come up with something usable.unsure

The head is graphic in nature so possibly the image could be waterjet cut for the dog tags.Thicken the lines more.:D

After some thought about how bulldog's ear fold to the side of the head instead of the way I had them looking like they pointed to the front.
I changed the ears to look folded to the side in this version.

Any feedback would be appreciated.:D

I appologize Rick if you thought that was directed at you or anyone else for that matter. It wasn't.

I was hoping you would jump in with all the talent you have been given. :D

I was just hoping it would be a design and not a cut and paste even though there are some really great mass designs they are just not original art. This place is going, I believe, to be different so the theme should also follow suite.

There add my opinion to a buck and get a nice cup of coffee :D

I tried it like that first, but didn't like it. I left the open space so something could be added. Almost like a business card set-up.

Rick, I admit, I haven't gone through all the pages on this but, I like this design alot, it fits really, but the lower blade seems out of proportion.
