I got to stay with Raymond and Jackie this past weekend and accompany Ray to the BladeWest show. I can't thank them enough for their hospitality and kindness to me. We had a ball talking knives and "life in general." I now know better why Raymonds knives are so unique and appealing --- they are a reflection of his character and his thoughts :)

Here's a few poor pics of a beauty I picked up over the weekend. It's a monster with an 18" blade and 24.5" overall. Curly Maple handle and wrought iron fittings. Ray, what is the steel???:

Next to a tape, just to show you the size:

And here's a quick updated collection shot, slowly but surely growing:

Thanks again Ray, that was a weekend I won't forget 2thumbs

Eli, it might be rebar. :D Its 1084, some of Aldo's finest! Did you oil or wax the handle on your new one? It looks a lot brighter than when you got it. If these photo's were taken with your blackberry they look great!

Just a little wax cloth on that maple, then a little photo editing to pull the black darker :)

that's an outstanding collection of knives. Even if you never got another, that's a special group of knives you have there.
I haven't even handled one of Ray's knives, but even from computer screen shots, there is a special-ness about each and every one I've seen.
It's like Ray loves each knife he creates like it was one of his children.

Eli,
Have you started any leatherwork for those?

No, I havn't done any for these. Ray's leather is "good enough" and I am just "lazy enough" that I have skipped making sheaths for them...

I did glue a clip on the rebar knife sheath and have carried it IWB a bit... Ray's actually pretty good with leather, but he hates it, lol.

Very nice!!!

But... every time you post a pic of "The Prophet" I am reminded why I like knives so much. That is near the very top of my list of the best knives ever.
Simply Awesome!!

Very impressive. Blade West was my first time seeing his work , and it left a lasting impression. I will return to Blade West next year with $$$ in my pocket to score one of his knives.
