Takefu Suminagashi Fighter

I was introduced to a new steel called Takefu Suminagashi by some friends on an Italian forum. It is amazing stuff. 5 layers of low carbon steel on each side of a strip of Japanese White high carbon steel. It looks great in person but I had a bugger of a time trying to take a picture that you could actually see the different layers. This was the best I could do. BTW the knife is an 8 1/4" fighter with a 416 bolster and stabilized amboyna burl scales. It is currently single edged but I am still debating on sharpening the top edge. What do you think, should I sharpen the top edge?
Thanks for looking
Steve
