is there only curtain steels that will work well on the magnetic plate? got some stainless i wanted to use for bolsters and it will not stick to the plate at all not even a little. i do not now what grade the stainless is. or do you think my plate is weak?

Not all stainless is magnetic, it must have a certin amount of carbon in it to be magnetic.

300 series SS is non magnetic and most stainless steels are less magnetic than carbon steel.
