Thank God for plate quenching! I did me first real heat treat in my new Paragon Oven. The steel is AEB-L, program 2 steps 1450 15 minutes and 1950 for 22 minutes. When I pulled the first fillet knife out it hit the 36 degree temp, I can hear the foil moving! By the time I got it between the plates (2 feet away) it had warpped like a banana at least an inch!! I was thinking "OH NO!! WHAT DID I DO WRONG!!", second blade out (pareing knife)! Same thing starts to get the Banana shape! Screw the vice I have with that Aluminum plates down, hit it with compressed air for a Couple minutes. Pull them out almost perfectly flat!! PHEW!! I knew it would work but at the beginning I was freaking out!! LOL!! So mission accomplished in Cryo now!!
