Newbie from Iowa

I was at the local gun show a few weeks ago and was admiring the knives on display and thought I'd like to give that a try. So here I am. Does anyone know of a Hammer in around the Des Moines Ia. area? I travel the country relocating equipment so I thought I could make primitive knives in my down time. My thoughts are file on the road heat at home. What's your thoughts? Thanks
