I very pleased with this new design. This one is currently out getting engraved and then off to a knife purveyor.

love the would just put it on a hunter i thought it was great to work with howd you like it

Thanks very much.

I love Amboyna Burl, always get a great finish with this wood. It is one of the woods that I almost always have at least one knife made with on my table at Blade every year.

Great design and finish, Sean. How do you finish the Amboyna Burl and is it stabilized? I have heard it doesn't need to be.

That wood is beautiful! I love the look of the tapered tang too.

Thanks guys.

Yes the wood is stabilized, I've only used it when stabilized so can't really comment on whether it needs to be or not. My opinion is if a wood can be stabilized I would have it done. I use my grinder to 600 grit and then do some light hand sanding, then a light buff and for the first time sealed the handle with a Beeswax oil. It seemed to give it a nice finish.

Nicely done Sean. That is a good looking knife and I too look forward to seeing what your engraver does with it.
