KNIFE MAKER
DS-GB-Knife01-ires.jpg

David and I did this one together.I forged to shape, profiled the blade, and finished the steel. Steel from ferrier's rasp. David did the handle and pins, cocobolo with several coats of finishing and a lot of hand polishing.

I made the pattern and cut out the sheath, and attached the concho. David assembled it and did the hand sewing.

I have been doing knives for about 16 months and David for about11 months.

This knife is for a ferrier David met that gave him a hand ful of rasps.

I enjoyed working on this handle, the cocobolo gives it a nice look I think and feels nice to grip in the hand. You did the hard part George! And it came it out as an awesome knife, I'm sure the ferrier will love this.

Now all we need to do is find time to deliver it to the ferrier. Hopefully one of these weekends I'll have free time to go with you.

David, maybe after I get back from the class with Jason Knight we can go see him on a Saturday. There's a Hammer In in March, third week I believe, would you like to go. Call me.

Guys thank you for the kind words.
