Gas forge heat treating

I had a few filleting blades and a couple of chef slicers to heat treat today and as they are in 12C27 stainless that needs to be heat treated at 1950-1960F so I thought I would do a short video on how steady the forge holds the heat using air flow and gas pressure. Have the pressure guage at 5 lb to get to heat and can then drop it down to about 2 to maintain the heat for the 5 minute soak this steel needs and then a quench between heavy alloy plates before tempering.​
