Got a request from My Sysco rep for a knife for him and his son. Here they are, he is coming to pick them up in the morning so I just finished them up.

Can you tell I had a day off? :)

Plus it looks like my house is SOLD and I have to move into a rental and I don't know how much knife work I'll be able to do for a while. :(

Not to steal your thunder but I know how it feels to make a Father and son pair. My dad was in the shop the other day waving a bowie around that was for a customer. I asked him to put it down which in itself is weird as he is my dad but I asked him to put it down before he scratched it and I would spend half a day trying to get the scratch out. Later that night over coffee and cake he asked about another bowie I had in the shop without a handle on it. I said African blackwood with stainless pins and a stainless bolster. I could see him pondering it in his head so I asked him, Dad do you want me to make you a bowie? He said YES! Just like the one you described! I have made several knives for my dad including a very special one that was memorial of my brother for my dad but he has never asked till now. One of the best feelings in the world it is!

Thanks for that bit and congrats on the knives. Very clean.

Shane, that's awesome! I wish my dad was around to ask me to make him a knife. I miss him very much.
