Thank you everyone! rmbohham, I'm flattered, seriously. The best part though, is they look so much better in hand than in the pictures. Its hard to capture the little details, you know?

Laurence, to me the contrast between the bark and heartwood is what makes for the most beautiful pieces of ironwood! The same for amboyna, paduac, and other woods of that type. The next pair I'm making...will have similar ironwood handles, but I'll be using a lighter toned sapwood and contrasting bark, with possibly thicker spacers of copper/nickel mokume. I think that the spacers will echo the wood nicely, while still providing a necessary texture/visual shift for contrast. If they turn out as I'm envisioning, I'll post up some more pictures :).
