2 questions about pins for Slip-joints

Guys, I need help with 2 quick questions...

1- For a silver pivot pin, what are you using? I want to do some that aren't brass, but not sure what to look for...

2- What are your thoughts on using 1/8" carbon fiber rod for the rear and center pins? I know CF has amazing shear strength, just not sure if epoxying cf rod into a cf liner-less handle would work very well. Just thinking outside the box here....
 
I use 416 stainless steel for pivot pins. All I can say about the carbon fiber pins is GIVE IT A TRY and let us know how it works out.
 
Thanks Calvin... I'll look for some 416 SS asap.

And I definitely plan on trying the CF pins soon...
