Thanks

But not perfect because I can´t just take the point out and replace it
Hammer it in LOL

BUT I can´t get spare points here anyway so no big deal *haha*

Had to take a scriber apart to get the point out

At least it didn´t cost me much.

Arrow..don´t know broke it a while ago LOL
Steel...a few cents
Screw..a few cents

But you need a drill press, vise,... otherwise tough to make

You might considering getting a steel rod the same size as the arrow shaft and drilling it out the same size as the carbide point. You can then drill and tap the top end of the rod, and use a set screw to hold the scribe point in place.
I used the cut off from a partially threaded bolt (cut the bolt head off and the threads), but you can typically get some cold rolled rod at your local hardware for fairly cheap.

good Idea Ive been looking at buying a digital height scale and they run a couple hundred and up . This type of set up will be just fine for scribing .Til now ive been ruining my calipers. thanks kellyw

Since you (or we) aren't typically scribing the edge of a hardened piece, would it work to use a hardened piece of steel as the scribe point? It certainly opens up your options...

As long as the steel is harder than what you're scribing, there shouldn't be a problem. Vernier calipers (typically hardened stainless) for instance are often used to scribe metal/knife blades as well.
