hey guys. i fianlly decided to take the plunge and get started on my knifemaking. i'm an avid and active balisong flipper and collector, and i would love to finally get my start on making some of my own.

i'm gonna be using terry guinn's tutorial (http://www.edcknives.com/GuinnBaliTutorial.php) but with a few minor changes. instead of using hidden pin construction, i will be using adjustable torx pivots. instead of bushings the knife will feature IKBS. (and yes, i already do have the bit for it). The knife will be latchless. the blade will be a flat ground tanto or reverse tanto, hopefully with a slight recurve.

materials:
blade: 3/16" ATS-34 (will be sent out for heat treat)
handle liners: 1/16" 304 stainless
handle scales: 1/8" blue/black G10
spacers: .200" heattreated HR 1095

cosmetic-wise. the knife will have a few mosaic pins in the distal ends of the handles for an aesthetic touch and some added weight towards the back. i'm going with an easy countersunk hole design for the handles. i'm going to blowtorch the liners for a nice rainbow pattern.

so, any comments and suggestions are always welcome guys 2thumbs

PS, handle material just got here, so i should be able to start work tomorrow.
