From the NL. Hi there!

Hello Gentlemen (and ladies if they're reading)

Just a quick intro as I realised that I hadn't done that yet.

My name is Alexander Noot (LX=Alex and Emergency translates as Nood in dutch, my native language which sounds the same as Noot).

I'm a hobbyist knifemaker and smalltime collector...not much collector though since I spend all my recent pocketmoney on materials.

I make mostly small pocketsized fixed blades as I think that's the prefect EDC knife. All the strengths of a folder (pocketability, sharpness) but none of the weaknesses (moving parts).

I'm yet to build a decent grinder but one is in planning and with that I hope to half the time of building a knife.

I have a wonderfull wife and two little children who are so much fun that I hardly ever get to doing something in the house/workshop untill they're asleep. They're aged 2 and 1 month and are a boy and a girl.

In daily life I'm a software testing specialist.

Regards
Alexander

Thanks Matt, looks like there's some cool people around here and some amazing knifemakers.

I'm still appaulled at the knife I made for you at the time. You'll be glad to know I"m doing much better at it at the moment.

Alex, we all start at the beginning! I like the fact that I have an early "Noot" knife! When you you become one of Europe's finest knifemakers, I may just have quite a treasure on my hands! I'm glad to hear that your skills are improving...mine are as well, slowly but surely! :D Keep it up brother! -Matt-
