Chef knife

I started this knife last September then left it on my bench and went deer and Turkey hunting for 7 months. Now I'm back at it and hope to finish it up tomorrow.

Go ahead and rub it in a bit more that you get to go hunting for 7 MONTHS and then get to come back and enjoy making knives. Must be a blessed life!

Great looking knife. Look forward to seeing the final product.

Looks good - be sure to post final photos telling us what metal, thickness, etc

Sandvik 14C28N is the steel, 61Rc, 3/32" thick, 8" long blade, flat ground, hand finished to 15 micron. The handle will be amboyna burl attached with 6 - 3/16" stainless Corby bolts. This knife is for me, that's why the big handle, for my big hands.

A little more done.

Well I got it glued and screwed together this morning. I should finish it Monday unless the fish are biting good tomorrow and I have to fish more on Monday.
Anybody ever seen a kitchen knife with a shield inlay?
