Looks pretty good man. Much cleaner than most guys' first knife. Did you forge it or use stock removal? One piece of advice is that you don't really need to drop the handle quite so much. In my (amateur) opinion, on a drop point knife, a straight or mostly straight spine looks better and makes for a more comfortable handle. However your handle does look like it would be pretty comfortable the way it is

Thanks I used stock removal my thought is to get a good understanding on how to shape the blade with a grinder before I invest in a forge and not like making knives, but I got to say this little sucker was fun to make. And thanks for the advice on the handle I will try a straighter handle next knife I work on.

Looks good! Have you heat treated this bad boy yet... also what type of steel is this? Is this hollow ground or flat... I can't tell... my eyes are poo. When you're get ready to get dirty (literally), a forge is easy to make. Mine kicks butt, prob cost $15... BUT ... your wife will kill you because of the mess you will make. I'm actually dead and this is my ghost typing lol.

I am also new and would like to know how to make a simple forge, especially for around $15.00

Well... I had the burner, bottle, and regulator already... so that's prob $80 or so that I didn't count in.

Mine is made from a 5 gallon bucket, sand, and plaster of Paris. It's really not very good, but it will get hot. There are plenty of YouTube videos on simple designs ... very easy to make and cheap. I'll take a pic of my burner and post in a minute.... just pipe and hose. I have to be honest though.... I can't wait to get my hands on a real forge. But mine gets the job done for now.
