Hi everybody. How did I get here? I was comfortable with my life and then happened to watch some knife making videos. Now I can't stop. I think I might be able to make one, maybe with your help. I am a therapist who works with children who have experienced trauma, so knife making obviously is the hobby of choice. :p:what!:. Actually prior to my therapy work I was a butcher by trade and I'm very comfortable around knifes and saws. I think I want to try a small neck knife first. I have an angle grinder, small 1x30 belt sander, drill press , files and also some wood skills. I also have a Taurus Ring Saw that some say cut metal. I haven't tried yet. I'm not confident it will do it. I use it to cut glass for fused glass jewelry work. I also have a kiln. It's a glass kiln that goes up to I think 1500-1600 degrees. I'm not sure if that's hot enough for metal. I hope that's enough to start.
