Hello... New to the craft

Hi everyone... I am New to knife making, though I am an artist blacksmith. This is my first attempt to making a knife. I used one of my old shoeing rasps. The handle is curly maple that has been sanded..buffed... And polished on my buffing wheel. It has many many coats of wipe on poly. I used copper pins and tubing. Let me know what you think. Thanks

You show good attention to detail. I have to admit that I have a prejudice against file or rasp knives though that buffing really brings out the texture and the vine work on the handle really looks good. The handle is well shaped and centered on the blade and I like that you made a palm swell. The down side is that the bevel is too course you needed to extend it at least 2/3's to 3/4's up the way to the spine. The way it is I doubt that it's going to be a good cutter. How did you heat treat the blade?
