I was looking on Amazon and they had a Skill bandsaw for wood and metal. Now for 150.00 I don't expect a lot or to last long.Has anyone used this type for cutting out blanks? or wat do you use besides a grinder.

probably the best deal going is the 4x6 metal cutting horizontal/vertical bandsaw from Harbor Freight. You can catch them on sale regularly. Option 2 is to find a decent used porta band and get a table from Swag Offroad. I say used, because the horizontal/vertical bandsaw from Harbor Freight costs less than a porta band does new.

they are very good saws. there's really nothing else comparable in that price range

Made a number of cuts last weekend while working on my forge and am really liking my WEN. Runs smooth and cuts well. Money well spent.

Can see I'm going to have to make some sort of support on the back side for long stock.
