2016 Knife Dog's Knifemaker's Christmas Exchange!

This isssssssss soooooooo fun I like this exchange for X-mas mine just got dropped off in the mail.
May everyone have a great x-mas :)

Package sent out today. Hope it makes it in time. We are having crazy storm right now. The person at the post office did not know when things were going to ship. Merry Christmas everyone!

Ken H, I got my gift today and man there are lots of pretty pieces in it along with a set of scales that were instantly snagged by my quality control expert, (the wife) who called dibs on them for her new paring knife.
My gift box to my secret sante is headed out tomorrow after I put the last of the packing material in to protect the treasures.

Ty Adams sure sent some NICE blocks of wood - I'm really wanting to try that Redwood burl.... NICE!!! The Curly Maple blocks are nice also - I'll have to use those on the wife's kitchen knives. Thanks Ty!

Glad you like them Ken. Hope you and family have a Merry Christmas.

My package was sent out on Saturday. It shouldn't have any trouble getting there before Christmas. If anyone has any issues, or doesn't receive something, please let me know. Things get pretty hectic this time of year, and sometimes things get missed.

I feel so blessed to have Larry Franklin as my secret Santa. He was my secret Santa last year and did a great job. He has excelled, again.

From this date forward, I hereby claim Larry to be my secret Santa in the Christmas gift exchange. No, seriously . . . I want Larry to be my secret Santa every year.

When I got the package and realized Larry sent it, I got the warm fuzzies inside. It took me all the way back to my childhood days and the shaking of the presents. Pretty awesome feeling.

Here is the box. I was expecting one of the small US mail ship if it fits boxes. Nope, big old shoebox from Wisconsin.

Here is what was inside.

Knife Porn - always useful. I like to read the older issues. I should have a little free time over the holidays to enjoy this part of the present.

Very helpful instruction sheet.

Lung protection. Very important. I do not know how Larry knew I needed one of these. Kind of scary. Larry is all-knowing.

Knife goodies. Always appreciated. Tubing, stag tips, jigged bone, elk scales, stainless steel for bolsters, Damascus for a guard (looking forward to using this piece), and some other guard materials.

And a shameless plug. It is not Christmas without the shameless plug.

Larry - thank you, thank you, thank you. You are a good man and even better secret Santa.

To all you Knife Dogs - Merry Christmas.

Your welcome Demo I laughed when I saw who I got. So nobody freaks I really only spent the twenty five dollars rest was just fun stuff to throw in to have fun so that's just me I don't expect anything more I just like trying to surprise who ever opens mine. Glad the respirator will come in handy for you and merry Xmas from the franklin family

Just as Demo, I had the same Santa as last year. A package showed up Friday from a Mr Bruce Bump. It came with an assortment of goodies, Zebra Wood, Walnut, carbon fiber, stag and jigged bone. Funny, there wasn't a single piece of ironwood to be found! :les:

Thank you Bruce I will certainly find uses for all of it. I guess next year at ICCE I'll have to make a point of introducing myself.

I hope the recipient of my gift finds it as useful as what I have received.

Chris, I'm glad you like my grab bag of scales. Yes stop by next year at ICCE. I have a table again, just haven't sent them any money for it yet. :)
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Peter Martin,
Thanks much for the nice amber dyed stag taper and the custom "Martin" beverage bottle opener. Looks to be made of Titanium!!
Merry Christmas!!

It's weird because I know of three people that had the same Santa as last year. It really was a random number generator that drew the names. Oh well, as long as everyone is happy!

I forgot the pic, here is the small flat rate box of happiness.
I recieved a piece of SB403 steel a bag of 10 corby's, and new woods to work with. Snakewood, mesquite, black walnut, rosewood and, a pair of beautiful olive wood scales. Of course when I get a new box of wood my wife is drawn to it like a bee to a flower. The olive wood and several snakewood scales are now squirred away for her next kitchen knives. Lol
I hope Bill Hubble enjoys my gift to him.
And I just selected some nice pieces from what I had in my wood bins and boxes.

So I stayed under the budget.

I went back and looked at last year. I had the same person be my Secret Santa and I was the Secret Santa for the same person.

Weird!
