WOW!!! What a weekend this is going to be! I can't wait for it to get here. This is what legends are made of.

Here is the article that ran in the local paper this morning.

Amy

Roger Cook makes the paper again. This is a file photo from a couple years ago at one of our previous Hammer In's. Roger Cook is working on a Puko here.

Since he was in the paper and interviewed on TV back then, he has been and remains our official Knife Dog's Hammer In Ambassador...

If you are attending. Bring knives to sell. We will have a table space for all the makers to put knives on they won't have to babysit but the public can shop. The local coverage has been good and I am expecting a decent turnout from the public to look at the event and some are going to buy some knives.

if you need some beauty pics of knives, Cory Martin (Peter's son) will be there and taking pics.

We we have a couple hundred pounds of meat from the local butcher. Today we made some bbq rub and sauce. A friend has loaned us his pro competition bbq trailer. The first camper has shown up.

i put in a new die set up for the twenty ton press that should work better. We have some layered billets ready and will be putting together several chain/powder billits together in the next couple days.

i just found out today we have a 14 year old boy registered. Nice to see interest at that age. We will have to help him this weekend leave with something impressive.

We also have Lucia, a 12 year old girl coming back this year to make another knife. She attended a couple years ago and left with a knife that she used for dinner for quite awhile her mother tells me.

I am predicting several of you will be making some throwing knives after you get a chance to play a few rounds of "knife throwing poker". We will staple several random playing cards on a target. Everyone puts in a buck for three throws and best poker hand wins the pot. Bring your throwers if you have any.

The weather looks to be in the low seventies all weekend. Nice. It's looking like we will get a few showers on Saturday but it shouldn't be a big deal.

We we will have at least three and I think four or five Forged in Fire veterans attending so we can here about that a bit.

The local TV station is scheduled Friday afternoon for their evening broadcast which should bring in more of the public on Saturday for the knife show and exhibition.

The staff here has been busting butt to get ready and they are looking forward to seeing you all again and to meet the new attendees.

Peter Martin has a bunch of stuff he has prepared to show in the Damascus area.

Keith Johnson has several examples of his slippy knives done to teach the entire process.

I am pumped.
See you Friday.

Mel at Wood Dynamics has donated a nice box of assorted stabilized wood. We will be holding a drawing for those Saturday night along with the Evenheat oven giveaway.
