Made myself a Knife

Forged to shape from 1095 high carbon steel. Differentially hardened Blade with an edge quench, Double tempered, Flat ground with a convex edge. The spine is rounded near the handle for choking up to do detail work and squared near the tip for scraping. Lightly acid etched to reveal the temper line, and a patina started by slicing chicken. Couldn't wait to try it out. The handle is Honduran Rose Wood with brass pins and tubes with a Brass coffin shaped guard all on a tapered tang.

That is very nice! Knife makers should probably make themselves one every once in a while ... and CARRY IT. I know folks who make knives who don't carry around a sample of their own work, so when folks ask "what do you do?" they've got nothing for show and tell. That one there tells a story far better than you describing it would - I hope you carry it. It's definitely worth showing off :D

Hey RW! Good to see you over here. Can't wait to put another of your knives into the rotation.

Not usually a fan of big knives but that one looks great.
