Making your own stand offs or threaded inserts.

Good job - I also enjoy making as many things as I can vs just buying them. Nice mill you've got.

Good video AK, I wonder if you could drill them 1/16" clearance hole for an 0-80 screw or if that would be to sloppy.
how do you trim them to final size, with an end mill ?
 
Steve I just determine the total length needed,I usually have them 1/32 to 1/16 past the tang so you have to counter sink the back side of your scales just a touch.I cut them with a jewlers saw ,I score a line all the way around will held in the drill Chuck for a reference and the cut to length.
