Recently completed B&T. Nicholson file with lightly scorched curly birch. 1/8 brass. I know a lot of guys frown on files because of the lack of pos-ID on the steel but I have had very good results with the Nicholson brand. (With a lot of failures).

Love the scorched look. I just finished my first file knife myself. It's satisfying to take a old worn out file and turn it into something new.
