Filework and epoxies... bad combo?

For the first time, I'm using filework on a couple blades I'm building. It's occured to me though, that once I'm epoxying the handle scales to the tang, the filing is bound to completely fill up with nasty epoxy; as I don't THINK I'll be shining up the insides of the file cuts, the epoxy is bound to stick real good to both the wood, and the filing! Any suggestions from you tried and provens???
:confused2:

Use some wax on the spine to help in cleaning. Keep it off the tang tho...

Vaseline works too if you don't have any wax around. Just be careful and apply it with a Q-tip just wear you want it.
