Recent Work - 440c EDC Mirror Finish

LobosStyle Blades

Here's a recent fixed blade I finished for a customer. When the first work that comes out is "WOW" followed by "It's too pretty to use!" you know you've done something right.

On this one I actually did the mirror polish before I did the bevel grinding and finished it off to what you see here after the grinds were done through a worn 800 grit micron belt. It made the process a lot easier and saved from having to hand polish. It's always funny when people see the mirror finish they get drawn to it and my inner voice will silently mock them "OOOOOOH SHINY!".

Steel: 440c
Hardness: 57-59hrc (Peter's HT)
Furnishings: Brass bolsters, pins and tube
Handle: Stabilized spalted maple
Sheath: 7-8oz hand stitched leather

Mirror finish is great for EDC, wipes clean real easy and Can be used for a reflective signal if you need to contact your stage coach robbing companions across the canyon because you don't have any bars on your mobile.
