A little knife in W2 and Koa...

J. Doyle

Dealer - Purveyor
Here's some pics of one I finished recently for a collector. I think this is a mean looking little knife. Very compact and lightweight.

Hand forged from W2 steel, clay quenched and etched
7 3/8" overall, 3 3/8" blade, .160" at the ricasso with full distal taper
False edge, just shy of sharp
Heavily rounded spine and ricasso edge
Black g-10 collars
Thorn and vine fileworked titanium spacer
Stabilized Hawaiian Koa

All comments and discussion welcome.

This one is incredible. I really like the color and finish on the blade. I have no idea how you do your filed spacers. This is an amazing piece of art.

Another beautiful knife! Funny how the last knife of yours I look at, always becomes my new favorite knife.

I love your guardless hunters John, no guard to get in the way but the fluted spacers seem like that they would be enough of an "index point" to keep the forefinger in the proper position. They are always nice but I'm really drawn to this one. Saved it to my "knife porn".

Another Great work Mr. Doyle. Just as impressive as the last, the details are impeccable.

Reminds me, I have some Curly Koa to get stabilized. Beautiful stuff.

John,

I've slobbered all over my I-pad! Having handled one of your "hunters" a couple of weeks ago, I can practically feel how comfortable the knife is in hand! I am in awe of your skills!
