Hello All, I am finding some interesting and fine work on this site. Clearly much to learn about how to "properly" make a knife.
My experience is as a custom furniture maker (over 35 years), so I have spent pretty much my whole life, in the shop. My woodworking shop is in my barn behind the house (well equipped for a one man shop). I have a second building (garage) that I have dedicated to machinist work (Bridgeport mill, SB lathe, surface grinder, etc).
I came here to find info on building a 2"x72" grinder for knife making, but have pretty much designed it and have begun gathering parts. Will show the build if anyone is interested in that.
Thanks, Larry

Hi Larry, welcome to the team!
Sounds like you are on the right track...with a good head start.
We always like to see a good build!

Hi Larry
Welcome and you came to the correct spot to learn knife making. I might have some wood questions for you though.

Will show the build if anyone is interested in that.

And Heck ya! I would love to see a grinder made by a machinist!
