Hey!......I finally finished a folder! :)

J. Doyle

Dealer - Purveyor
I've been working on these on and off for a while now. I finally got one finished. This is my second folder to date and it's the first one I've made in my own shop. I took a class with my good friend and mentor,MS Jon Christensen a few years ago and made my first one there in his shop. I also wanted to say thanks to my other good friends Bing and Ed Caffrey. These three guys really helped me out with getting these folders underway.

Nothing revolutionary or groundbreaking here. I just wanted to make a nice straightforward, practical, working/utility folder. This one is light and slim but still plenty stout for a folder.

Specs:
80CrV2 steel
7" open, 4" closed, 2 7/8" of actual sharp edge, .114" thick
Full distal taper in the blade
Blade has a 800 grit hand sanded finish
Rounded spine
Black g-10 scales
.060" thick titanium liners, jeweled
3/16" hardened steel pivot with titanium pivot screws
Titanium handle scale screws
Good, solid lockup and strong detent retention

Any and all comments, questions, critique and opinions welcome.

Ha john, great looking folder. With your talents I don't know what you were worried about. you make great knives so a folder would be a natural transition for you. So what's your next one going to be?

John,
i like the drop in the front of the blade and the corresponding curve in the handle. Many folders are to straight for my liking, especially when guys make their first ones.

Thanks guys. Yeah this has nice action and a nice positive lock.

Next..........let's see.............I do have to return to my forging and make a few commissioned bowies. But there are more folders in the near future with pocket clips bolsters, new materials and maybe even damascus. :)

Thanks again for all of your comments.
