Texas LLC Questions

As per the title, I have a few questions for you guys running an LLC here in The Great State of Texas.

What type of LLC entity did you choose?

What would be a ballpark figure for forming an LLC?

Did you opt away from the Single Member LLC? If so, how bad are the yearly fees to keep your status?

Do you use a registered agent to handle your legal correspondence and if so, why?

I've done a bit of reading and I'm looking for practical feedback from other knifemakers as some of what I found does not seem to apply too keenly to us. Any and all help is DEEPLY appreciated! Thank you gents.

i cant speak of texas. here in NC the easiest is sole proprietorship, fill out the paper, go to county clerk office, give them $25, and you are done. go to NC department of revenue on line, fill out form, in 24 hours or so you have a tax number, within a week official tax paperwork in the mail. that is all you need here to make and sell anything non-food. talked to small business folks at local community college and they advised me that this is the easiest way to start a business.
