First Forged Knife ever WIP

I recently got me a forge good enough to weld damascus and made a billet. Then decided to weld up some 5/8 cable i was given from a friend. I welded it up and decided it was a little narrow so i decided to try my hand and forging a knife.

Then I rough ground it and profiled it to see if it was worth heat treating. I'm liking it so far.

Next is smoothing it up and finishing the profile with 120 grit before normalizing and heat treating. Friend who gave it to me is a knifemaker too and said it should be heat treated just like 1075/1080/1084 so i will test it and see if it holds an edge before worrying about a handle which will also be a first thru-tang and first stacked handle possibly too. In case y'all haven't noticed i'm trying alot of new things lately
