This is butterscotch paper micarta,with an inlay,of black micarta.A N.Y.K. Co. style shield,like on those old fiddleback folding hunters,you know ? 2thumbs

Its contoured real nice,just feels right.I used this on two small doe here on the North Fork,so she's broken in & proven

Lovely blade! I have never been a fan of butterscotch- eye or mouth- but I think I am going to have to reconsider that. I hope you get a chance to use it this fall.

Lovely piece and I believe it's an excellent style to work with. When you use it for opening, the blade will want to pop out rather than dig in. Super work as well and the crest is a special piece of work in itself. Frank
 
Rick really grinds them thin and sharp.it will get the job done. I really like how he has gone with the shields.
