Who does 440c heat treating

I'm making a 7" blade knife with k-bar type handle for a chief getting back from being a guard at a jail in afh. his third tour ,its 440c steel and i have never done SS before and need it heat treated to 57-58rc who do I send it to to get it back in a week or so Help please, i would like it cold treated also i think i know nothing about treating 440c Help please !!!!!! also do i engrave it first or after , i've sanded it to 400 and did the filework but don't know if i should engrave i plan on sanding it to 1500 or mirror finish show peace for his wall

Clint, For engraving, I would say get it very close to your finished grit and engrave it B4 HT. After HT it will be very hard to engrave.

Peters Heat treat is where I would recommend sending it for HT. there not only good, But fast. He has a forum on KD where you can find his info.

As far as cryo treating , ask Brad at Peter's he would be able to tell you the benefits of it on 440c.
