I need someone that can help me with a heattreat oven.
I need to get an idea(not an exact #) on how many ceramic bricks to order for a oven large enough to treat folder blades,as well as
small fixblades, nothing over about 8''.Anything larger,i'll send out.

I would also need help with PID controlers,as well as SSR
and heating elements.YES I have read, but only enough to
be confused.You can call me,601 341 6039 or I'll call you
I'll be ordering my bricks from Mr Coe
Thanks for any help

God bless,Keith

IIRC, the standard dimensions for grade 23 soft firebricks (2300*F limit) is 3"x4.5"x9". I needed about 21 bricks altogether for MY oven, but it's a little larger than you would require. IIRC, the internal dimensions are somewhere around 4.5"x6"x16.5" or so.

The biggest consideration will be making it big enough to fit a stretched heating element into the oven. If you figure out your minumum element requirements, it will help you plan your internal dimesions, and thus your required brick count.

One thing I've found is that it doesn't hurt to have too many bricks, as it's nice to have extra if you break one or mess one up, and you may need to replace some down the road or use them for other projects in the future. It also doesn't hurt to have too much oven (to a point anyway) as you might want to heat a larger blade, or a large number of blades one day.

Thanks AR,I hope to be finding out soon.I think I have most of my stuff ordered
I am sure before long,I'll have lots more questions.
Thanks,

God bless,Keith
