My first Ti carving

I've been wanting to try some carving on Ti for awhile,I'm using a CC Foredom flexshaft.Well I had some .160 scrap pieces to use.I use a printed CAD drawing glued for a pattern,I'm limited to a 1/8" carbide dremel bit.

I could refine it more,But this is what it looks like roughed in.I bead blasted it & tumbled it some.

My brother in law suggested it would make a cool key tab.:D

I'm planning on investing in different shape carbide bits.

Looks slick to me. How long did it take you to carve that? I haven't used a Foredom before but have contemplated getting one.

Shawn,I think it took me about 2 hours to get it where it's at now.I could spend more time refining it more.Carbide is the only thing that will touch this stuff.I'm definately going to start some Ti designs on some framelocks soon.Eventually I'm getting a Shofu dental air drill,The workhorse handpiece that tops out at 340,00 rpms. For roughing in & taking alot of material away the flexshaft is what you use,For more control the air drill is the ticket.:D
