etching machine??? who has made their own?

Will,

Many many makers have made etchers following the Chris Crawford tutorial mtself included. Works like a charm.

i have toying with idea of making my own after reading chris crawford's tutorial. it could be a fun holiday project.

I have made a few and gave Chris Crawford the information he used to do a tutorial on my design. If you follow that, you will get a good machine. 12V is better than 25V, I don't remember what the tutorial says.

Boss Dog has the same information and his version of the tutorial on his site also. http://www.mickleyknives.com/html/etching_tutorial.html

Chris and Tracey have gotten more mileage out of the tutorials than I have.

There is a lot better machine that I built for a video for Centercross Instructional Videos. It etches, anodizes and plates.

From those that built using that tutorial, did you ground one of the output wires like Chris advises in step 1B?

If so, what happened?

Seems like a dead short sending one of the outputs to ground like that.
