    Steels need to quench differently with different mediums... I use water almost all the time now but certain steels can't be just dumped into the bucket. They may have to be dipped a couple times to slow the quench time down.

    It is Black Delryn. It has that pearl looking pattern in it...all the colors of delryn are that way. I have a quantity of bright green and a gray as well as the black in my shop[ and they all look like that.
