Is there any part of your knifemaking that you consider trade secrets.

No Secrets. Most everthing I know I learned from some one that was willing to share their knowledge. A few things I figured out on my own or addapted what I learned from others to suit my methods and equipment. That is one good reason that the KGA has a couple of shop tours a year with...

    Wannamaker Gun Show- Tulsa, Oklahoma

I thought I might be able to make a visit but it doesn't look like that will happen this time. You men sell lot of knives to help all the hunters skin their game with ease. Nothing like a good hand made knife to make short work of the cutting chores.

KGA Knife Show August 28th Are you going to be there????

I keep waiting on the pics from Calvin:) We did have a good show and as usual, some sold a lot and some didn't sell. I hate it when there is anyone that didn't make a sell and wish there was some way to make sure it didn't happen. I have made a couple shows that netted zero sales and it is...

    Smokes and Prayers-Ray Kirk Family

Surprised Yes, we did have a great time at the shop tour. I was extremly surprised when they said that the Iron in the Hat was for Barbara and I. It will be used to help get Barbara well again. We did have about 90 people show up and there were a dozen or so that had something come up and...

Oklahoma Knife Group Association Shop Tour

Forged from a round bar of 52100 or 5160 with stabilized maple burl for handle material. The round hidden tang is pinned and epoxied. Flats and shoulders are left as is from forging, blades hollow ground on 10" wheel, back grind the top of the blade to reduce a bit more weight and make easier...

Oklahoma Knife Group Association Shop Tour

Cal, It was good to get to visit with all of you again. As most of you know, I really enjoy making the hidden tang integrals, they just seem to be simple, strong, and less maintenance on them. A couple of the examples from the small to the large are in the pics. Since it is very easy to...

Oklahoma Knife Group Association Shop Tour

It was indeed a very nice day and I enjoyed it, especially the pecan pie. :) That is the great thing about shop tours, we get to visit other shops to see how they do it and always come away with ideas of how to improve our own. Mike and I appreciate all that attended and enjoyed it. Some...
