    Meat cleaver scales

'And as another option, I love the very old style ones, and prefer them over newer cleavers. I look at the meat cleaver as kind of a lost art. Once the bandsaw replaced the cleaver in the butchering industry things just have not been the same.

    Meat cleaver scales

A lot also depends on the look you're going for, when going custom looks can make a big difference. No point in going through all the trouble to make a knife to put a plain Jane handle on it (IMO) that sad: I agree with HHH wood picks, G10 and Macarta do hold up well in a kitchen but many...

    Making a corkscrew. Question

Never made one but I know a few guys that have. The interesting thing ( at least I thought so) was they did stock removal from a rod rather then twist it to form. Don't know if that helps any lol

    Round Knife Design

I'm assuming you're going to grind the blade convex? from the picture it looks like you might be doing a grind, I would recommend against that. Love the look of the loveless bolts, and the blade design looks good

So I got me a splitter

Was asked to fix links by a member, here you go. BTW just an update. I just realized I've been using this splitter with its new blade for well over a year now without it to be sharpened, I think its do to the steels hardness? My guess is old blades for these were made from simple carbon likely...

    Chase Pattern leather splitter-need photo/info

The bottom roller does not adjust, the screws just hold it in place. The bottom rollers " adjustment" would be in line with the hole bottom plate (the gold part), how tight the 4 back screws are control the "give" or "springy resistance" of the plate. The top two screws on the side adjust the...
