Fixed and folding knives designing and other graphic services.

Do you only do the geometry or also tolerance blue prints for production? If there is a problem with geometry and or tolerances who is on the hook for scrap labor and material? Also is the models included and if so what format?

    Broken Tap Advice?

Never a fun thing to have to do. But depending on what and how the tap broke there are a few things you can do. As you mentioned drilling it out is one way if it broke off nice and flat you can center punch it and drill it with a carbide drill(a HSS drill will not touch a HSS tap) but a good...

    Smaller chainring bolts

Instant gratification....:cursing: knife makers! They are being setup as we speak. As for the larger one I will make them .312 OD x .250 barrel x .500 OAL with a .062 wide head and a .062 wide x .03 deep slot. And they will go in right behind the smaller one. Will try for this week on the...

    Smaller chainring bolts

Ok, Here is what I have .250" OD X .187" Barrel diameter x .500" OAL with a .062 wide head and a .062 wide by .03 deep slot and a 6-32 thread in 416SS heat treated to 40HRC. If this sounds good to everyone let me know and I will get them moving. Thanks, Travis

    Smaller chainring bolts

Yes I think they should be the same size also that is why i think they should be 6-32. I could easily make them .500" long, although to me that sounds a bit long, but i suppose its easier for the end user to remove stock then add it. And yes I would make them out of 416SS and harden them around...

    Smaller chainring bolts

Well I spoke to Tracy and he is willing to take a run of them if I can determine a popular size I can get them moving right away. The one I have drawn in the rendering I posted is .25 OD x .187 barrel diameter x .312 OAL with a .062 head height and a .062 wide x .03 deep slot and a 8-32...

    Drilling HT Blade

Yes carbide will be the only way you will be able to touch it. How much material due you need to remove? Are the holes tapered, one side bigger then the other like draft from waterjet cutting, if so make sure you drill from the smaller side to the larger especially if only a small amount of...

Hey Rick, Looks good. How do you like SW? I Just whent from AutoCad to SW 2010 the transition was different but what a powerfull tool. It sure takes allot out of trial and error on the engineering front with Interference detection and simulation and as you know the list goes on and on. Travis

sandwich or solid handles What do you like better sandwich or solid handles? Why? My thoughts are the solid is more "solid" and more customizable but is the little extra weight a major issue?
