I sharpen by hand. Have several great naturals but must admit I'm switching back to synthetics. Actually this seems to be the case for quite a few of my fellow sharpeners. Naturals: Pros - great finishers, unique, nice feel Cons - to many fakes around, expensive, no specific grit Synthetics...
