I began by making swords from mild steel, just stock removal as wall hangers. This worked pretty good, but as I researched the techniques and types of steel I realized I should probably learn to make knives properly first. That's when I started making knives, about four years ago. I forge various steels, mostly 5160 and W1 as they are easy to get for me. Tried 440C but use it mostly for stock removal. I do every aspect of the art, including sheaths and scabbards. It's a hobby.
