Thanks! I haven't sharpened it yet as I still need/ want to make a sheath. Honestly , with this first one I didn't put much thought into its utility . I just drew out a design I liked and went for it. I plan on putting a little more thought into the next one

It has some flaws( expected) , but I'm really happy with my first attempt. I know my next one will be even better because I learned from mistakes on this one and will continue to learn from them and improve

Waiting for epoxy to cure... So close to finished I can taste it!! If only we could add a few hours to each day, lol

I'll have pics posted later this week with the finished project( hopefully ). I haven't had a free moment from my job to work on my knife, but it's all I think about 24/7, lol.

Lol, thanks. Although I already have found many flaws, I'm still very happy with how it's turning out for my first try!

Finally got my small forge and today cut a blank and tried my hand at heat treating. It's 1095 , only 1/8" thick so I'm hoping it's hard all the way through . The file skates right off. Next up, grinding and sanding!
So , as I wait for my forge that I ordered ( just a small one) , I keep shaping blanks and working on my bevels. Each one gets a little better but I have a long way to go before having something worth looking at, lol

Unfortunately no. Looks like I'll be going the old school file way or a bit until I can find a reasonably priced used one. I've done enough research to know that I'm not buying one until I can get my hands on a 2x 72!
