Buck Sirus problem

I've always been a trapper carrier. About a week ago I got a Buck Sirus. It is an assisted open and up until I used it the first time it opened with some serious authority. After I used it once it sounds like it got some grit in it and now it is almost no assist. Is this common? I've never messed with one of these so what is the best way to remedy this?

Well Petie, I would clean the grit out and adjust everything, or you could take it back and get another one? Compessed air might cure the problem, good luck.

I had a similar problem with my Benchmade Stryker when I got it. I figured out that the pivot had been loose and, from constantly playing with it, I had forced the pivot to tighten on the blade it it was pinched so hard the blade felt like it had not assist. I don't know if that's the problem but it was for me. Hope this helps.

What was it being used for?.
Say,.. fish clean/gutting? may have gummed up,.. or in dirt/sand ,.. try just cleaning first before you get aggravated, lol. . may not be a big hassle.
