This is my latest completed knife and sheath.

10 1/2" full tang blade
16" OAL
Craig Barr multi-bar damascus (5160-15N20)
File worked nickel silver bolsters
Curly Maple and silver wire scales.

Curly Maple sheath
Pigskin lined
Nickel silver throat and toe
Damascus retension lock with blacksmith curl.

This knife is inspired by the spanish belduque style knives that pre-date the american bowie knives and was made for a fella who does re-enacting as a Californio. The sheath is designed to be worn in the califorio's botas which are leggings similar to chaps that strap to each leg just below the knee. The leather collar was added to pad the wearers leg from the throat digging in and to allow the strap of the bota to cinch down between the top and bottom of the leather collar locking the sheath in place.

There are many first attempts represented here, especially on the sheath, and although certainly not perfect I think it came out pretty good for someone learning to solder and braze along the way.

All comments and critiques are appreciated.
