It's been a while since I put it together, but I'd guess that I spent between $400-$500 which was a good savings compared to an evenheat or paragon oven. Here's a rough breakdown of cost:
-Kanthal wire will cost around $40-$50 for enough to set up a 220V oven
-Soft fire bricks will cost you around $100-$120 for enough to get the oven completed
-PID controllers cost between $50-$75 depending on if you want ramp/soak options
-Thermocouples cost about $25
-SSR costs around $15
-and whatever the misc building materials cost (weld steel, angle, switches, fuses, etc)
You can get a Suger Creek kiln for a little more, but you have to spend extra to get it digitally controlled.
Here's the websites I purchased most of my components from:
http://www.auberins.com/
http://www.budgetcastingsupply.com/H...ontrollers.php
You'll also need some high temp hookup wire to connect the elements. You can get that from either site.
Hope this gives you an idea.... Good luck and have fun with it!
