Emerald Scythe

A new Hybrid - 1/2 Art Knife and 1/2 Modern Fighter

SPECS

OAL: 9 1/2”
Blade: 4 1/2” X 1" wide at plunge cut; Flat Grind with recurve;
5/32” thick towards front of blade; tapered tang; brushed satin finish
Blade Steel: O1 Tool Steel for durability and edge retention,
triple tempered; heat treated in house to 59RC
Handles: Dyed Masure Birch Burl in emerald green
Accents: White Spacers
Bolsters: 416 Stainless Steel with brushed satin finish
Pins: 3/32" 416 Stainless Steel
Sheath: Fully tooled sheath (by Maker) in premium 6-7oz leather; for right hand carry;
oiled and left natural with a Super Sheen finish (not yet applied in picture below)

Note: This is a new design made especially for the A.G. Russell "Knife Event" Show this summer but sadly she's not coming with me.
Why? Well, things happen and in this case the white spacer material on the left side of the bolster moved slightly during glue up -
and of course I didn't catch it until it was too late.

But for a discount, let's see if you can overlook a little, and I mean a little blemish on this emerald beauty. Expose pic below.

This new piece is so comfortable, quick in the hand and cuts with a whisper.

Beautifully Tapered Tang
*Note: The white spacer pulled slightly (1.5mm) away from the left spine during glue up.
This is obviously purely cosmetic and will not affect the function of the knife.
There is not a void as it is filled with adhesive - so it will not collect dirt or moisture.

Sheath had not had "Super Sheen" applied when pics were taken, it will have a subtle gloss.

$290 * discounted due to minor flaw as indicated above. Cost includes Priority Shipping/Insurance in the continental U.S., Canada and Australia

Other international sales are very welcome but they must pay the exact shipping costs.

Very nice piece 2thumbs. I'm curious though what is the "10" stamped on the blade? Is it related to your mark?

Hey Buddy - thanks, glad you like it. The "10" is no big deal, it merely indicates the year it was made. I stamp my initials on one side and the year on the other. If my initials survive the regrinding and sanding process - great. If not my name gets etched on the spine. Same with the date. ;)

Take care and God Bless -

Nice one Wayne, I'm sure people down below were looking up wondering where that awful noise was coming from when you saw it. Really very minor, somebody will get a very beautiful custom for less than it is worth.

Gotta agree with Mr. Hoover above, really nice.
Sorry about the slip, will be someone's gain.
